DEVELOPING LIFELONG ATHLETES

Tribe's coaching philosophy encompasses 4 principle goals:

1. Improve Movement Quality

2. Develop Skill Proficiency

3. Accumulate Strength

4. Build Psychological Robustness

This is accomplished through scaffolding exercises and allowing the athlete to build independence and confidence prior to adding complexity and intensity.

This means fewer injuries, more  sustainable progress

My husband Scott and I have been doing Crossfit for 2-3 years. We love it, but we've been frustrated with our lack of progress on the olympic lifts over the years. Once the pandemic hit and gyms closed, we figured it was a good time to start amassing a home gym and focus on form and technique with Julia. It was one of the best decisions we've ever made (other than getting married to each other, of course!).
Coach Julia is a dream. She is extremely knowledgeable of how the musculoskeletal system works, and is an expert at the three olympic lifts. But she is equally versed in other strength disciplines, such as gymnastics, powerlifting, Crossfit (of course), and yoga, and she has an extensive mental rolodex of accessory work and recovery exercises. If all that physical knowledge isn't enough, know that she will also help you with your mental game, which is almost of equal importance. She is a pedagogue and technician of the highest degree, and a supportive, attentive coach.
Personally, we could not have improved on the snatch, clean and jerk as much as we have without her expert guidance. We're both lifting heavier, better, and more efficiently thanks to her.
But don't take my word for it: you'll just have to experience Julia's coaching yourself. And I highly recommend you do.
